Bronwyn started QLS in 2000 after working for an equipment retailer and realising a broader role for OT.
Interestingly enough her first job was in a Day Hospital - now called Community Rehab Centres - "and an OT worked for the centre doing exactly what we do now - recall envying her, that face to face contact with people in their own homes, and being able to problem solve realistic issues with them." Then working at Royal Melbourne in general, research, neurological, and burns wards in an acute role, followed by a long stint in Community Rehab and Visual Impairment.
Part time work in residential care after having her first child expanded to increased hours, responsibilities for OHS and as a side line managing the kitchen at a residential care facility throughout a large expansion program!
"Diversifying into equipment retail added to knowledge of this area which I quickly decided was what I wanted to do more of, and so QLS was born. Learning about various funding systems, as well as numerous rare and not so rare medical conditions and their consequences and the challenges of an ever changing body of equipment resources continues to keep me interested."
Bronwyn enjoys working with a team and is incredibly proud to work with Rachel.
Personally growing up in the Dandenongs has cemented a life long love of open space and keen interest in local planning.
Bronwyn enjoys time with family and friends, walking, ballroom dancing, reading, being in the country and organising getaways with family or friends. Apparently lists are her forte.
